Solidarity in Our City

‘Solidarity In Our City’ is an aluminium art print that brings together art badges created by our creative community and allies. Featuring messages made across the last year, it shares our collective voice that everyone has the right to be safe to be themselves. Together we’re proclaiming that everyone has the right to be seen and celebrated.

‘Solidarity in Our City’ heads to Manchester Open 2026

We’re delighted to announce that ‘Solidarity in Our City’ was selected for the Manchester Open Exhibition 2026, running at HOME Manchester from 19 June – 6 September 2026. One of the city’s most attended public exhibitions, and a key public exhibition in the North, we are thrilled that our creative community has been represented alongside hundreds of diverse artists in the biggest celebration of Greater Manchester’s creative talent.

‘Solidary In Our City’ proudly showcases messages of solidarity with sex workers to the thousands of visitors that come to HOME Manchester for this event. Our collaborative artwork, created with Harriet of interference-art, is a celebration of allyship in our city of Manchester – proclaiming that everyone has the right to be safe to be themselves, and to be seen and celebrated.

For us, badge making is an act of solidarity, made visible by wearing these miniature canvases in our day to day, and passing on positivity through collective creativity.

Following the exhibition, our ‘Solidarity In Our City’ aluminium print joins our collaborative art works and prints on the walls at Our Room – part of our collective curation with our community, decided by participants. Alongside other collective artworks, like ‘Our Boundaries’, these messages of solidarity are installed in our 1-2-1 rooms as a reminder of how to ground ourselves – and that we are not alone – when we need them most.

The artwork’s visually stunning with heartfelt comments.”  – Manchester Safety Partnership

Huge thanks to all Our Room participants and staff who created this project in collaboration with lead artist Harriet Hall @interferenceart, and to Manchester Community Safety Partnership and Oglesby Charitable Trust for supporting our work and this project.
