What We Do
Our Room Manchester is a creative community for male, trans & non-binary people who sex work. With 19 years’ experience of supporting our community our vision is that men, trans, and non-binary people who sex work are supported and empowered to live happier, healthier, more creative lives.
We believe in the transformative power of art and the right for everyone to participate in our city’s rich cultural life. We provide a rich and varied programme of creative activities and projects.
We believe all people who sex work deserve dignity, respect and safety.
We provide a friendly, non-judgemental space where people can get advice and support and get involved in our creative programme.
Our support and advocacy team work with our participants to address immediate and long-term support needs, offering practical support, advice and advocacy on a huge range of issue substance misuse, housing troubles, sexual health, metal health and emotional wellbeing etc. Our staff and volunteers are experienced professionals from the fields of social work, the arts and youth work. We work in partnership with agencies across Manchester.
We speak up and speak out on issues which are important to the people we work with. Our vision is to empower our service users through arts engagement to take control of their own lives.
